What to Expect from a Home Design Project

Do you love the idea of redoing your kitchen or bathroom? Here’s what you can expect!

Are you dreaming of a new kitchen or bathroom? If so, you might be a little worried about leaping into starting a project—especially if you have heard how the pandemic has wreaked havoc on the supply chain for many industries.

It’s true. The home design industry has been affected. However, don’t let doom and gloom reports keep you away from having the home of your dreams! You can avoid stress by managing your expectations regarding lead times and planning accordingly. This guide will help you!

Lead Times on Projects

When do you want your project to be complete? These days, you will want to start sooner to finish your renovation in time. A general rule of thumb is to plan for a kitchen remodel to take 8 to 12 weeks and a bathroom remodel to take 6 to 8 weeks.

Of course, every project is different, so here are the lead times we are currently experiencing with materials:

  • Our cabinetry lines range from 3 to 16-week lead times, depending on how custom they are.

  • Tile can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to arrive.

  • Quartz countertop material takes 1-3 months.

  • Closet materials are 3-4 weeks.

  • Blinds and shades range from 3 to 12 weeks, depending on the style.

  • Lighting fixtures can also take 3-6 months.

  • Even though we don't sell appliances, some take more than 12 months to arrive.
